My journey to uncover my roots began with décor. What started as a simple creative project during COVID slowly grew into a six-year and ongoing effort to understand my ancestral history.

As I researched, I let go of some family folklore, uncovered secrets, and made surprising discoveries about my relatives. I made research mistakes, chased more than a few rabbit holes, and found myself facing new mysteries every time I thought I had the answers.

This journey has carried me from the Caribbean to England, to Australia, and to places I never expected my family tree to reach.

I continue to search for the missing pieces, fill in the empty branches, and make sense of the stories that shaped my family. Along the way, I share tips and the hard lessons I’ve learned, hoping they will help others walking their own path of discovery.
